Daniel Barber – Minister of Music & Ritual

Throughout his life, Daniel Barber has been relentlessly engaged in creating ways to make the world a better place.  B.J. (before Jubilee!), Daniel was a social worker, social scientist, video producer and political activist.  Since 2001, he has performed with or led numerous musical and theatrical groups (including the Jubilee! World Beat Band) for entertainment and ritual.  He facilitates Cosmic Mass and Vision Quest rituals where all are invited to bring all aspects of themselves to the grace and blessing of the divine altar.  Also a sonic presence coach, Daniel created a uniquely powerful modality (SoundYourSelf) to help people who yearn for deeper fulfillment to unleash their innate creative genius, spontaneously express themselves musically and connect more deeply with themselves and others.

 

Barbara Brady – Minister of Teaching

In her roles as a Coach, Grief Recovery Specialist & Licensed Practitioner with the Centers for Spiritual Living, Barbara Brady brings presence, deep listening, and a safe space where others can freely share their heart and connect with their spirit. Her background includes a Masters in International Business, living & traveling in Europe & Asia, and work in sales, teaching & training; including helping business leaders effectively communicate and build bridges across cultures. Barbara serves on the Jubilee! Board and as a prayer partner at the western wall. She’s volunteered with hospice, and as an energy healer and yoga teacher. She’s also an author, ceremony leader and artist who loves Bossa Nova, bonfires and bubbly.  Her ministry through Jubilee! is to teach practical ways we can apply spiritual principles to our lives for more peace, freedom & empowerment, and live more fully & joyfully through soul practices, cathartic grief, nourishing relationships, creative expression and sensory experiences.

 

Jacquelyn Dobrinska – Minister of Community Wellness

You know her as Jubilee!’s Community Life Coordinator, but Jacquelyn Dobrinska is also a beloved holistic health educator, wise woman practitioner, internationally recognized teacher and ceremonial leader. She has mentored with some of the world’s preeminent visionaries in mind-body health, and today teaches at universities, hospitals and retreat centers around the country. She also spent the past two decades immersed in the mystical traditions of the prophets – Vedanta and Tantric Yoga, esoteric Kabbalah and Christianity, and Peruvian, Native American and Western European Female-Based Shamanism (yep, you heard that last one right). Her Jubilee! ministry is to support the health of the individual and the community, allowing each person to cultivate their great gladness and creatively connect to others, so that together, we can be agents of positive change that benefit the Earth and all of its creations.

 

Yona Frenchhawk – Minister of Native American Ritual

Yonaguska FrenchHawk is a full-blooded member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and was born and raised in these beautiful mountains we call home. Yona’s life work is helping to realize the Cherokee Prophesy of the Seventh Generation and the uniting of all people as one indigenous tribe of Mother Earth. Aho

 

Vicki Garlock – Minister of Education

After attending a Lutheran grade school and a Catholic high school, Vicki received her Sc.B. in Psychology from Brown University and her Ph.D. from the Univ. of AL at Birmingham with dual specialties in neuroscience and cognitive development. She then served as a full-time psychology professor at Warren Wilson College for 11 years. In 2008, she was hired as the Nurture Coordinator and Curriculum Specialist at Jubilee!. Over the last decade, she has developed a Bible-based, interfaith Sunday school curriculum that also incorporates the principles of Creation Spirituality. The Peace unit of that curriculum for four age groups (Preschool-Kindergarten, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School) is being published throughout 2018 with Possibilities Publishing. She is also the founder of Faith Seeker Kids, a company that provides churches and families with interfaith resources for kids. In her “spare” time, she also curates the Asheville Interfaith Facebook page and facilitates 3-4 interfaith events per year.

 

Justin Martin – Minister of Ritual

Justin Martin became inspired to become a minister while worshiping at Jubilee! while he was studying at Warren Wilson College. He attended Wesley Theological Seminary and became an ordained minister in the Unitarian Universalist Church in 2013. Justin currently works as the Youth Minister at Caldwell Presbyterian Church and leads a monthly Jubilee! service there. He and his wife Jessica and three wild children (Caleb 8, Andy 5 and Katie 2) live in Davidson. Justin loves baseball, jazz and beer brewing.

 

Cathryn Jan (Davis Zommer) – Minister of Movement

Cathryn Jan (Davis Zommer) is a long-time Jubilant! She is a dancer, documentary filmmaker and sacred activist, and has studied with spiritual teachers around the world. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Enough Pie, a non-profit that uses creativity to connect and empower Charleston’s Upper Peninsula. Cathryn believes in the power of the Sacred Creative to transform ourselves and our community, and will begin the degree program at the Fox Institute for Creation Spirituality in Fall, 2018 where she intends to make a documentary film on praise dancing for her thesis. Cathryn lives by a favorite Jubilee! mantra: Don’t Postpone Joy.
