At Jubilee!, we focus on the beauty, mystery, and cosmological spirituality of creation. We draw on the many and ancient traditions that predate, often by thousands of years, the more modern concept of “Original Sin” and its many guilt-infused manifestations. Modern mystic Matthew Fox (he assures us that each of us is mystical) provides the four paths of creation spirituality that we travel here at Jubilee!. These paths take us on journeys of meditation, love, social justice, and learning that resonate with us and truly fill us up:

Via Transformativa (Spring) — This is the time of natural resurrection, new life springing forth from the earth and from within us as well. We strive for universal compassion and the healing to which such compassion gives birth. All are reasons for celebration.

Via Positiva (Summer) — During these months, we begin to discover beauty and awe in each other, in ourselves, and in the fascinating world around us. As the sun wraps its warm arms about us, we celebrate with a delightful combination of revelry and reverence for all that is, for all that we are.

Via Negativa (Fall) — This, too, is a period of celebration as we contemplate the mysteries that surround us, from the black holes of the universe to the nature of our own souls. As the season progresses, darkness reclaims more of each day. We allow this darkness to pull us into silence as we examine with introspection our own suffering and that of all others with whom we share this planet.

Via Creativa (Winter) — From the apparent dormancy of the winter months, we are called to explore the imagination and creativity that underlie all of creation at every moment. We come to understand that we, too, are divine and as such are co-creators with God. Therefore, this is a time of great expectancy as we celebrate that which is and that which will be.
