Since its inception in 1989, Ju
bilee! has dedicated its resources to improving our lives, our community and our world. During its first year, Jubilee! gave ten thousand dollars to local, national, and international agencies that feed the hungry and shelter the homeless.

Jubilants are encouraged to contribute to Jubilee!’s mission by filling out a pledge card on Commitment Sunday in October. You may make monetary gifts on a weekly, monthly, or annually basis, or in any other manner that is convenient to you. Many Jubilants have found it advantageous to make don ations of appreciated stocks.

In addition to plate collections, Hunger Baskets are placed on the altar every Sunday, and Jubilants are encouraged to contribute to a special fund supporting agencies that feed the hungry, such as MANNA Food Bank, Meals of Wheels, and A-Hope Shelter for the homeless.

You may also make a donation to a specific agency or Jubilee! cause, such as teen service trips, by contributing to the Designated Gift Fund. Please mark your special contribution if it is designated for a specific cause. Finally, you may contribute to the Compassion Fund, set up for individuals in need of assistance. These contributions are confidential due to the nature of the fund.

Jubilee! tracks your financial gifts when you pay by check. If you prefer to make cash donations and wish to receive credit for your contribution, please put the money in an envelope with your name on it. In January of each year you will receive a statement that reflects your contributions for the previous year.

Other Ways to Give
Throughout the year, Jubilee! also make contributions in the form of goods earmarked for needy populations. Past drives have collected socks for the homeless (a campaign called “the Joy of Socks”), house-keeping supplies for elderly and disabled residents of the Vanderbilt Apartments, fresh produce for MANNA Food Bank, and school supplies for children in Louisiana following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

The Talent Project produces funds for the Jubilee! he ating fund, which helps offset the rising costs of winter heat, especially for the elderly. If you choose to participate, you will be given ten dollars in seed money to develop a product to sell at the “Bizarre Bazaar” on designated Sundays in December, or to create a fund-raising event of your own. Past Bizarre Bazaar merchandise has included hand-made jewelry, pottery, home-baked cookies, knitted and crocheted hats and scarves, original paintings and other works of art, beaded bookmarks called book “thongs,” and home-grown and canned pickles endorsed by none other than Jubilee!’s own Sister Harry Margaret (a.k.a. Howard).

 Where Does Your Money Go?
Money contributed to the Community is spent as specified by the Jubilee! budget. This budget, which is available for you for viewing, includes salaries and building operation costs as well as funds for community programs, team ministries and other projects. The Jubilee! budget also includes outreach giving—our gifts to our community and world. The Jubilee! Outreach Team is charged with the distribution of this money to local, regional, national, and international non-profit agencies.

Jubilee!’s Outreach Giving Report shows recent gifts to the community. All expenditures except checks written to the Compassion Fund are available for review. Monthly statements are also available in the entry area outside the Celebr ation Space.

Since 1989, our donations have totaled over 2.2 million dollars to helping agencies.  Here are some of the agencies that have received gifts from Jubilee! Community.
