New Way to Distribute our Outreach Gifts
The Jubilee! Board and Outreach Team want to update you on how the money you put in the baskets on the Alter on Sunday mornings will go to help people this year. All the money you place in these two baskets during the opening hymn is given away to not-for-profit organizations. The Outreach Team has worked with these groups for many years. So…What is different this year? The difference is that each quarter will have a particular focus.
The money you placed in the baskets from January through March will be given to organizations that help feed hungry people, such as Meals on Wheels, MANNA Food Bank, Loving Food Resources, and Bounty & Soul. The money placed in the baskets during the second quarter, April through June, will be given to organizations that help children and families. These agencies include the Emma Family Resource Center, One Youth at a Time, Village Partners International, Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministries and others. Contributions during the third quarter will be given to organizations that help the homeless such as Homeward Bound, the Haywood Street Community, WNC Habitat for Humanity, Room in the Inn and Mountain Housing Opportunities. And, finally, the money from the baskets in the fourth quarter will go to agencies that provide for the general wellbeing of our community and the world. These agencies include the Eblen Foundation and the Hope Chest for Women, Pisgah Legal Services, Wild South, Consider Haiti, and the Jubilee! House in Nicaragua. Checks for these agencies will be mailed in the month following the end of the quarter. Many thanks to all of you for your continued giving.

Spaghetti Dinner & Talent Show. We’ll have an old fashioned dinner (okay, we will have a gluten free option) with salad and dessert. But…more unusual and under appreciated talents such as arm balancing and gargling the national anthem will be looked upon more favorably!
The eating starts at 6 pm and the talent show will begin when we feel the Spirit move us. The cost is only $5 per person to cover the cost of the food; however, the cost for an entire family is capped at $15. Sign up to eat and/or share a talent on the counter in the Hospitality Room.
