Elections Are Coming…Are You Registered to Vote?
This year, five municipalities – Asheville, Black Mountain, Montreat, Weaverville and Woodfin – will hold elections.​ Only Asheville has a primary, on October 10th, with early voting starting September 21st. The Voting Rights issue group of the Social Justice team can register you if you are not registered. If you are, we encourage you to sign up to pledge to vote. Come visit us; we’ll be in the Hospitality Room.

 Nacho Mama’s Bible Study at Jubilee! Continues
…The next session happens Thursday, October 5th at 7 pm
Join us for a study of the Hebrew Scriptures led by five Jubilee! Ministers and one Ph.D. The purpose of the study reflects one of the purposes of Jubilee!: to lift the scriptures out of the stagnant puddle of religion and release them into the ocean of imagination and possibility. Participants are invited to bring snacks and drinks and, hopefully, a few nachos. 7 – 8:30 pm, mostly Thursdays.

  • Friday, October 13 – Loaded Nachos: Wrap-up, Candace Chellew-Hodge, Columbia Jubilee!

Drawdown: Solutions to Global Warming that Create a Just and Livable World
The Jubilee! Earth Team and Creation Care Alliance’s 5-part book discussion on Tuesdays in October and November starts on October 10th, from 6 – 7:15 pm at Jubilee!  If you are interested in joining us, please sign up through www.CreationCareAlliance. org. or email Chas Jansen who will send out a schedule of assignments & guide for the discussions ([email protected]).  You may purchase the book ($23.54) at Malaprops Bookstore (828-254-6734).

Vortex & Crystal Grid Ceremony/Excursion
…New Date: October 7th at 10 am.  Meet at Jubilee! on Saturday, October 7th. Led by Jackie Dobrinska & Rachel Fressa
In honor of psychic Page Bryant who passed recently, Jubilee!’s Community Life Team is hosting its first ever Vortex and Crystal Gridding Ceremony Bus Excursion to heal the earth. A vortex “is believed to be a special spot on the earth where energy is either entering into the earth or projecting out of the earth’s plane.” Vortexes are found at sacred sites throughout the world, including Asheville, one of which we will be visiting. Tickets are $20 and all proceeds go to the Compassion Fund. Optional: Bring a drum and/or singing bowl.

Click on the SUNDAY CELEBRATIONS Tab and then on the SEEDS Link. The Seeds will tell you everything you might want to know about our Celebrations for the Via Negativa.

Remembering Heart & Earth
Sunday, October 1st from 6 – 8 pm
You are invited to a reception and viewing of  Deb Criss’ nature based paintings – acrylics with oxides anything from realism, to surrealism, with her own conceptions. She states, “I would get bored with a branded style. I paint what comes through at the time, which is, anything goes!

Time to Host Room in the Inn

Fall is here and so is Room in the Inn.  We will be hosting from October 29th through November 5th. You can sign up to help starting on Sunday, October 8th in the Hospitality Room.  As usual, we will need volunteers to cook, drive, host and to serve as overnight innkeepers.  Let us save you a spot.
