All Saints Day Bonfire
…Thursday, November 1st at 7 pm
Join us at Hanger Hall, 31 Park Avenue, North, less than a mile from Jubilee! for our annual All Saints Day Bonfire. It is said that on the Day of the Dead the veil between this world and the next is lifted and communication may happen. So…we’ll share memories of our deceased loved ones, send them messages. We will also read, pray and burn the prayers from the Jubilee! Prayer Wall. Bring munchies & drinkies if you wish.
Coffee, Conversation & a Gentle Stroll
…Sunday, November 11th at 10:45 am & 12:30 pm
Many of us believe that building a sense of shared community is among the most important goals of Jubilee! The Earth Team thinks building community is enhanced when folks work on a shared goal and with the Board’s approval Jubilee! is going to work towards becoming a Zero Waste Congregation. Our Kickoff for this collective effort will be Sunday, November 11th when Earth Team members Chas Jansen and Mollie Milner will host a compostable cup coffee/tea gathering in the Hospitality Room. We hope you will schedule a bit of time after the service to chat and connect with us and your fellow congregants over this effort. If the weather cooperates, we also plan to gather after the second celebration at the UNCA Botanical Gardens off W. T. Weaver Blvd. for a nice stroll and additional community building conversations. Please plan to join us.
We Know You Are Busy
If you are curious where you stand with your pledge, we will be happy to give you that information as we enter the 4th quarter of 2018. To find out, please email Don Fortuna, our Administrator, at [email protected] org or call him at (828) 252-5335. If he is not available, just leave a message on voice mailbox 1 and he will get back to you ASAP. Thanks again for being a vital, contributing member of Jubilee!.
Reuse Empty Medicine Bottles
…It’s even better than recycling them!
Instead of recycling your empty medicine bottles and caps, either prescription or OTC, bring them to Jubilee! and drop them in the box in the Entry Area. We will forward them to a ministry that ships them to countries that otherwise send medications home in folded paper where the medicines can be damaged or accidentally fall into the hands of children. Please do your best to remove the labels. Questions? Email Rebecca at [email protected]
