Calling All Knitters & Crocheters
…Tuesdays, November 28, December 5, 12 & 19 at 1 pm
Want to help make hats for refugee kids? Our goal is to make 300 FUN, Warm, colorful animal hats for refugee kids. So, what we need help with is: 1) knitting and crocheting hats…best to make them so the brim rolls up. These fit more ages of kids. They also need to be warm, colorful, and if you have any soft yarn, kids love when they are soft. 2) If you can join us, come to the “Sip and Stitch” parties at Jubilee! on Tuesdays at 1 pm on November 28th, December 5th, 12th and 19th. Bring a beverage to share or a snack to share. We will also be “de-beaning” stuffed animals, stuffing them, sewing up their tummies, and then sewing the stuffed animals on the hats. You can check out more on www.gofundme.com/Animal-Hats-for-Refugee-Kids. 3) If you have a cute, CLEAN, small (no bigger than a TY beanie baby) stuffed animal bring it with you. Contact Joan Naylor (828) 231-1692 with questions.
Fall Cleanup—Boom, Done!
The weather was not great, but it did not deter a hearty group of folks from showing up! In fact, eleven people participated in our Fall Cleanup on Saturday, October 28th. When you see these folks, be sure to say THANKS! They handled a multitude of tasks in record time. The participants were Anne Wray, Doug Bush, Brian Kennedy, Ray Raymond, Doug Sherry, John and Kathy Busse, Gretchen Henn, Keith Blate, Barbara Vandervate & Genevieve Fortuna.
Kudos to Carol Greenspan, Coordinator of the Room in the Inn program and all the 70 plus dedicated and remarkable Jubilant volunteers who helped with RITI. As Howard often says, “You are keeping the main thing the main thing.” We are so proud to be associated with you.
Having Trouble Finding a Parking Place?
Yes, we know parking is a problem on Sunday mornings, especially at the 11:15 am Celebration. But, you can park at the United Way Building located at 50 South French Broad on Sundays for free. The walk is up hill coming to Jubilee! but it is all downhill going back to your car. Plus…think of the health benefits if you walk!
