Jubilee! Artists Network Gathering…Monday, December 14th at 7 pm
The Jubilee Artists Network welcomes all artists, dancers, musicians, writers, etc. Our mission is to support each other, sharpen our artistic edge and share our gifts with the world. If you’d like, bring something for the “Promotion Table,” or to present to the group. We meet in the Community Room, at the Westgate Earth Fare, on the second Monday of each month. Call Rev. Celebrating the Jubilee! Team Leaders…Monday, December 21st at 6:30 pm
Our Team Leaders are the heart of Jubilee! And it’s that time of year where we get to celebrate… not just Advent.Hanukkah.Solstice.Christmas.Kwanzaa.New Year. Epiphany, but the time and effort that our Team Leaders give as well. So, the Team Leaders are invited to join the Jubilee Staff and Board for our A.H.S.C.K.NY.E. Christmas Party on Monday, December 21, 6:30 – 8 pm at Hanger Hall. All food and drinks will be provided. To merriment, joy and keeping the main thing the main thing! And in great thanks for all you do. Thanks!
Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Celebrations at 5 or 10 pm
You are cordially invited to participate in a Jubilee! tradition…the Candlelight Communion Celebrations at either 5 pm or 10 pm on Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24th. Child care will be available at the 5 pm service for children who can walk to 6 years. The Child Care Room will be open starting at 4:30 pm. Come early for a good seat.
New Year’s Day Bonfire…Friday, January 1st, 2016 at 5 pm
You are invited to attend the New Year’s Day Bonfire at Hanger Hall at 5 pm on Friday, January 1st, 2016. Howard’s home is located at 31 Park Avenue, N. Asheville, NC 28801. We will sing, offer our hopes and prayers for the new year and enjoy the warmth of the fire and good friends.
You Are Cordially Invited to Co-create Our Future…Friday, January 15th, 2016
Jubilee! is now 26 years of age and growing! We need you to help define what we might look like in 3 – 5 years and explore how we will get there. The Board of Directors is inviting each and every Jubilant to the Jubilee! World Cafe – a highly interactive and participatory visioning process. (Drinks will be available.) Sign up with a board member in the Hospitality Room before January 5th. Join us on January 15, from 7—9. It will be fun & free.
Have You Pledged?
Over 150 Jubilants have completed their Commitment card so far. And, to them we say, THANKS! If you haven’t done so, we hope you will this Sunday indicating your support for the ministries of Jubilee! in 2016. We consider giving as an opportunity for spiritual growth and hope you see it that way as well.
Talent Project $
If you have any Talent Project money to turn in, please place it in an envelope, mark it as “Talent $” and place it in the offering basket by Sunday, December 27th. We would like to have all the money in by the first of the year so we can get it into the hands of folks who need it. The dollars will be split with 40% going to the Eblen Foundation, 40% to Swannanoa Valley Christian ministries and 20% to the Heating Fund of Mountain Housing Opportunities.
It’s a Christmas Party!
Mark Friday, December 18th on your calendars from 7—9 pm. Howard and Don are hosting a Holiday Party at Hanger Hall, 31 Park Avenue, North. Be sure to bring cash or checks to contribute toward the Jubilee! Talent Project to keep folks warm. Live music, beverages and light snacks will be provided. Be sure to dress up as you think “dress up” ought to be!
If you chose a child in foster care to purchase Christmas gifts for, please get those gifts to Jubilee! by Sunday, December 20th. Please do not wrap the gifts. Just put them in a plastic bag and securely attach the ornament to the outside. The gifts must be checked by foster parents prior to their delivery on Christmas morning!
Pancakes & More!
Jubilant Terry Deal will be serving hot pancakes in the Hospitality Room on Sunday, December 20th from 10:45 am till 12:30 pm to generate money for our Talent Project. This is a 22 year tradition for Terry.
Jackie Dobrinska, our Coordinator of Community Life says, “We’ll also have extra coffee, holiday treats, kids running around burning off excess sugar, and a few rousing rounds of carols. Come downstairs between the Celebrations.”
