Jubilee! Attention Deficit Story Jam—Postponed
It has come to our attention that the Jam conflicts with the fundraiser for Kat Williams.  To honor both her healing journey and your amazing stories, we are rescheduling this event for September, exact date will be announced soon.  As a result, the anticipation and participation has an opportunity to grow! Keep refining your slide shows, and if you’ve been on the fence about sharing, now is your chance to jump on board. Just talk to Jackie Dobrinska, our Coordinator of Community Life, after a Celebration.

Our Stuff: Trinkets, Treasure or a Time to Let Go
….A 9-week
artistic conversation, exploration, creative collaboration and presentation workshop
Join Barrie Barton and other participants as they explore and express how ordinary things, tangible and intangible symbolize our experiences, aspirations and identity using stories, movements and images to craft a performance piece. The workshop invites all participants to engage in creative activities and to collectively design a presentation for our community. People of all experience levels are invited as Barrie facilitates and helps attendees engage in expressive activities using movement, story, writing and art. Our Stuff: Trinkets, Treasures or Time to Let Go culminates with a community-based, movement theater piece to be performed on Sunday, November 20th.

The workshop will meet for nine Monday nights starting September 12th from 6 to 8 pm at Jubilee!. The fee is $170; however, participants can attend a sample first session for $15. All experience levels and body types welcome. For more information and/or to register call (828) 658-1217 or go to www.communitychoreography.com. This workshop is sponsored by the Arts Team.

Are You Ready for This Year’s Election?
With the recent decision of the US Appeals Court, we no longer have to bring a photo ID when we vote. However, there is plenty to do to get prepared to vote.  Are you registered at your current address under your current name? We can help you get registered or update your registration almost every Sunday before Election Day, November 8th!  Most importantly, if you pledge to vote, you will receive timely e-newsletters come fall to help you get your sample ballot; learn about early voting dates, times and locations; and get at least one candidate guide. You can sign up most Sundays.  If you are interested in assisting with this effort, either at Jubilee or in the general community, contact Ron  Katz at 768-4559 or at ronkatz337@gmail.com.
