First Chat ‘n Snack of the Season Coming…
Monday, May 30th, 6—8 pm at Hanger Hall
Join us on Memorial Day at Hanger Hall, 31 Park Avenue, North, near downtown Asheville from 6 to 8 pm for our first Chat ‘n Snack of the summer. We will gather around the pool to swim, enjoy potluck foods, dance and enjoy each other’s company. Be sure to wear your swim suit and bring your own towel if you and your family want to swim. Also please bring food to share. Beverages will be provided. Chat ‘n Snacks are a perfect venue for meeting other Jubilants and expanding your circle of friends.
Singers and World Beat Band To Perform to Benefit the Rosser Family
Friday, June 3rd at 7 pm
The Jubilee! Singers and the World Beat Band will be putting on a benefit concert for the Rosser family on Friday, June 3rd at 7 pm. The first half of the concert will be a selection of uplifting music that the Jubilee! Singers have performed throughout the season. The World Beat Band will also be performing their rockin’, soulful music the second half as a fun dance party for the cause. As many of you know, after seventeen years, Lynn Rosser, had to step down as Coordinator of the Jubilee! Singers. Her son has serious heart issues and is currently on the transplant list. Lynn is dedicating her time to his caretaking and being ready when a donor comes through. We are asking for a $10 donation at the door for admission. However, if you are able to give more for the cause to help out this wonderful sweet family, it is definitely welcomed!
If you are interested in joining the choir and singing for this cause, the rehearsal will be during the Jubilee! Singers rehearsal on Wednesday night, June 1st, from 6 to 8:30 pm.
Want to Learn Hypnosis?
Friday, June 10th at 7 pm and Saturday, June 11th at 9 am
On Friday evening, June 10, and all day Saturday, June 11, you are invited to participate in a small group Hypnosis Workshop at Waking Dreams Retreat. Come learn Hypnosis 101 as practiced and taught by Jubilant Laurie Berry Clifford, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. It’s fun, practical and life-enhancing. The Longest Weekend of the Year Camping Trip…
June 17—19 at Joyce Kilmer National Forest
Return to the magical area of Lake Santeetlah in the Joyce Kilmer National Forest. We have openings for 25 folks who will be in for an amazing treat as we hike to a mountain overlook, ride the Cherohal Skyway, swim and boat in the warm waters of Lake Santeetlah, take in the full moon and hike under the 500 + year old trees of the National Forest. To participate, you must sign up and pay a $10 deposit. Well behaved pets and kids are welcome. Don’t like camping? Rent a nearby cabin and join us for the adventures and food. Need more information? Meet other Jubilants, make connections, and have fun. THE BLOCK is located a 39 S. Market Street. This is a Community Life event.

He will be leading Jubilants! on a special nature walk in Shoppe Creek, sharing the ecological intricacies of plants, birds, insects, lichens, fungi and more. Write Your Spiritual Journey
Have you always wanted to, dreamed of, or started to and procrastinated your way to failure, to write a book? Would you like to turn your personal spiritual journey into a book? But you think you are not qualified because you think you don’t know enough? You don’t know how to begin? Then join Page Bryant on Monday and Tuesday evenings, June 6th and 7th at 7 pm in the Hospitality Room. The first night will cover such topics as Setting Realistic Writing Goals, How to Begin Writing A Book – Research and Interviewing and How to write a first draft. The second night will cover topics like What Is Your Story About, Proof Reading & Editing. The total cost is $20, but no one will be turned away. This class is sponsored by the Spiritual Journey Team.
Liberation…A Theatrical Pray-formance
Thursday, June 9th at 7 pm
Liberation (and other themes of Freedom) is an event designed to bridge divine madness and mystical expression, setting free the inner voices that want to be loved. Join us in a night of experimental Celebration, a fundraiser for Juiblee!’s Community Life. The evening will include three performances, followed by collective free-form dance. Admission is on a sliding scale; however, no one will be turned away. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
Saturday, June 18th at 10 am, Biltmore Park Hilton
A group of local churches and justice minded non-profit organizations are organizing a transgender education event that is being held on June 18th at 10 am at the Biltmore Park Hilton Hotel. The event will be free and open to the public. There will be a panel discussion with Q&A. Panel participants will include representation from Tranzmission in Asheville, Silent T in Hendersonville and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh.
