Successfully Navigating the Via Negativa
…Four consecutive Tuesday evenings, October 11 – November 1st, 7—9 pm
At times life seems like a journey through a minefield. In the blink of an eye we can be up to our eyes in a cesspool of dark, reactive feelings—anger, sadness, unworthiness, failure, helplessness and hopelessness. In this series we will be exploring questions like…What happens when we attempt to ignore the darkness? What does forgiveness or letting go really mean? We will also focus upon developing our inner abilities to successfully navigate the Via Negativa. Led by Dr. David Robertson, this series is designed to take the participant beyond the fluffy “new age” philosophy of denying our pain, covering it with fairy dust and riding off on a pretty unicorn. We will walk directly into the pain and gain from it. Sponsored by the Spiritual Journey Team, a $10 suggested donation/class is requested.
…Thursdays, October 13—November 10th at 6:30 pm. Drop in for one or all!
Join Sunya Kjolhede and Lawson Sachter, co-abbots of Windhorse Zen Community, each with 45 years of Zen practice, on a journey of Zen Meditation which offers a dynamic and penetrating practice…a simple, time-proven way to help us dive beneath the churning waves of thought, to personally ex-perience the beauty, dignity and wholeness of our own fundamental nature. An Adult Nurture event. By donation.
Coffee, Conversation & Crafts
Join your fellow Jubilants in coffee, conversations and more on October 9th after both celebrations. From The New York Observer: “This is a bold and personal literary exploration of America’s racial history by ‘the single best writer on the subject of race in the United States.’” Questions? Call Claudia at 713-3720.
Let Your Imagination Loose!
Join Jubilant actors Lauren Fortuna and Willie Repoley at the NC Stage Company’s production of WVL Radio Theater as they tell a series of classic American horror stories.
