Full Moon Labyrinth Walk
…Thursday, August 15th at 6 or 9:30 pm
Yes, we walk the labyrinth again on August 15 to celebrate the full moon (and honor Howard’s retirement). For those of you not inclined to later evening hours, the labyrinth is available from 6-7:30 pm for you to navigate in the daylight hours and welcome the coming of the full moon. We’ll ‘Call the Directions’ at 6 pm. Bring a feather, a leaf, a flower—anything from mother earth to leave on the altar in gratitude. For the wild and woolly ones who crave the caress of the moonlight, gather at 9:30 pm. We’ll drum in the light and croon our joy as the moon makes her appearance. Again, bring a token from mother earth to grace the altar. And as always, all $ donations are given to Jubilee! Hunger Fund. Call 708.224.7199 or jvm795 @gmail.com for details.

Working to Sound Better
We’re excitedly purchasing supplies for our new stage and gear to make Jubilee! a better sounding place! We’re 1/6 of the way towards our $6000 goal and Daniel has offered to write a CUSTOM SONG for a lucky Jubilee! music lover. To qualify, donate $100 — more is OK 🙂 to the Sound Fund and you’ll be entered in a drawing happening at the 2nd service Jubilee! in Action on August 18th. If you want, we’ll play your new song at the WBB “Sounding Better” concert Sunday, September 8!
Welcome New Board Members Jenny, Patrick & Elizabeth
Three new Board Members began their service commitment on July 1st. They are Jenny Farthing, Patrick Fitzsimmons and Elizabeth Likis. The fourth member of the Class of 2022 is Stefanie Beierschmitt who came to the Board last year to complete the term of a member who needed to resign. In the past two editions of this newsletter we shared information about Jenny and Patrick. In this edition, we will focus on Elizabeth Likis who teaches counselling at Western Carolina University. Elizabeth says, “I have been a participant at Jubilee! for 19 years, went to Pathways in 2003, and I raised my adopted daughters in the Nurture Program. It is my spiritual home and represents my core values of faith-based advocacy. Now I am in a position to step up my activity and give back more time. I care deeply about what goes on at Jubilee! and this is such an exciting time to see what the next phase is for our Community that we can grow into and build upon.”
