Jubilee! and the LaZoom Bus are partnering again! We will be going on a Christmas Caroling Tour and you are invited.  The tour will be offered on Monday, December 9th at 5:30 pm.   Seats were sold with payment of $20 per person at the Welcome Counter last week. However, we are sold out at this time, but you may add your name to the waiting list.  The bus will depart promptly from the bus parking area located at the corner of Battery Park and Otis Street. This is a Jubilee! Talent Project. And thanks to Jim LaZoom for his donation of the bus!

Restorative Yoga Class

Calm the nervous system, release stress and rejuvenate the spirit for the Holiday Season. We will be using bolsters, blocks, and blankets to ease our bodies and minds into a relaxing practice of supported postures. Dress for cozy comfort & bring props if you have them. 100% goes to the Jubilee! Talent Project Fund to help keep folks warm this winter. A donation of $10—$20 is asked. Quesitons? Email Paula Hanke at [email protected].

Light in the Winter Solstice: Meaning & Making of Holiday Greens
….Thursday, December 12th at 6 pm
Jubilee! honors spirituality in creativity…so we are getting crafty. During this time of darkness, ancient traditions would bring in evergreen boughs as a reminder that life continues to grow, even when its dark. Eventually it turned into swags and Christmas trees. Whatever your tradition, join us in this small ritual and evening of crafting and infusing a holiday swag with prayers and blessings for the bounty of life. Leave with your own holiday swag for your front door (pick your holy-day). A love offering of $25-$40 for materials is asked. Hosted by Jackie Dobrinska, Minister of Community Life.

 Mystic Cafe/Solstice Celebration/Holiday Party!
…December 20th at 7 pm
Come join us to celebrate the coming of the light! There will be two sets of entertainment. The first is a cabaret from folks in our community and the second is a dance party put on by our World Beat Band led by Daniel Barber! All the money collected at the door will go toward the heating fund! $10-20 suggested love offering but ALL ARE WELCOME! There will be coffee, tea, and some food! If interested in volunteering please contact Amy at [email protected]. Let’s celebrate!

Christmas Eve Candlelight Services at 5 & 10 pm
…Childcare available at the 5 pm Celebration
As always, two Candlelight Communion Celebrations will be offered on Christmas Eve, the first at 5 pm and the second at 10 pm.  Childcare will be available at the 5 pm service, starting at 4:30 pm for children “walking to 10 years of age.”  But a word to the wise:  Come early for the 5 pm Celebration if you want a seat!

New Year’s Day Bonfire
You are invited to attend the New Year’s Day Bonfire at 5 pm on Wednesday, January 1st, 2020, at Hanger Hall which is located at 31 Park Avenue, North, less than a mile from Jubilee!  We will sing, burn the 2019 Prayer Flags that hung in our Celebration Center all of last year, offer our hopes and prayers for the new year and enjoy the warmth of the fire and friends.

Your Support Is Needed Now More than Ever!
If you are among the more than 85 folks who have completed your Commitment card, THANKS!  If not, we hope you will complete one this Sunday indicating your desire to support the ministries of Jubilee! Community in 2020. Our goal for 2020 is to raise $350,000. Not going to be in the congregation this Sunday and need a card?  Give the office a call at (828) 252-5335 or email us at [email protected] and we will get one to you.

The Door Will Be Locked
…Sundays from 10 am to 10:45 am
Our Patton Avenue door will be locked between 10 am and 10:45 am on Sundays for the security of our children. If you need access to Jubilee! during that time, just walk around to our Wall Street entrance. Please do not bang on the door. It will not be answered as our Nurture staff will be busy working with our children.
