From the Board on Jubilee!’s Future

Good morning! I’m Molly Pritchard from the board and have been involved in the survey we invited our fellow Jubilants to respond to- We are so thankful that 87 of you took the time to respond so thoughtfully about the online services and how we want to move forward with Jubilee’s future;

We heard from you and it is clear we are a diverse group of spirited people who don’t all agree with the exact same paths to the Holy-to finding that sacred space on Sundays at this thing we call Jubilee!….some who want more Bible/ Christian based messages…some who want less….MANY who want more Creation Spirituality centered services….some who want more humor…some who want more of our regular Jubilee! Anthems….some who enjoy the chaos of singing together and some who want to mute that part!

We hear that you want more time in chat rooms…. to have that time to connect more with our community to talk and dig deeper into that day’s message….and today, we are implementing that suggestion…

Of course, we hear that the technology leaves something to be desired at times—and will never be as good as being together in our Jubilee home, holding hands and singing together…..but we also hear so much support and gratitude for all the effort being put into everyone of these online services…that these services are so important to sustain us during this unprecedented time of isolation…..
We hear that you love and appreciate and want more of all that feels familiar on Sunday mornings—-Yona’s calling of the directions, the prayers, the music (and there are many desires for more of WBB!) and more of our Jubilee familiar “anthems”…
We heard many times that you want to hear more from our own network of awesome ministers..and to bring back some of our favorite guest speakers…
We hear that you want to know what the Board is thinking about for our future with hiring a new minister?—should we hire an interim? …..What is the time line for that and when will we get back in the building? and more….
We hear that some still want to know more about what happened with Amy….and some who are still disappointed in that outcome…
We hear that we still miss our Howard-led services…
We hear from a majority of you that you are enjoying having a variety of speakers for our meditations on Sundays…and you really like the idea of a blend of an interim minister with rotating guest ministers….
We hear really good ideas about finding an outdoor venue to gather safely as a step towards normality….and finding other ways to connect during this time away from our Jubilee physical home…
We are truly hearing you…

I believe that Jubilee! Has never been predictable… always been a variety pack—-that we might sing Bob Marley one week and an old southern Baptist hymn the next…andt we might invite our animals to be blessed one week, to the chagrin of some- and baptise a precious baby the next. I believe we we create a space that is as diverse as we are and THAT is what we hold dearly. I believe we are open- minded, open- hearted souls who respect those differences and trust this hodgepodge approach so that we can continue to be the most INCLUSIVE place to worship and call our community!!!

So, where do we go from here????

One day at a time and with all of this in mind as we trust this process and love each other, communicating along the way… while we continue to transition slowly and evolve together…
We promise to keep this communication open…to continue to invite your input along the way….To be transparent with the next steps and to find ways to involve our community with the process of choosing the best path forward. We, the Board, are a diverse group of Jubilants, just like you….who share these same sentiments and are diligently trying to make the best decisions for our community so that we can stay connected, spiritually fed, afloat as an organization, and the MAIN THING THE MAIN THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So please Stick around, find ways to connect with this community and our evolution….and who knows….the best is possibly yet to come…..Oh Yeah!
