6.7 Choices: The holiness of self-care with Jay Joslin

Rev. Jay Joslin is Jubilee’s Minister of Ritual, Teaching & Counseling. Ordained in 2015, Jay has been a Jubilant for 20 years but has been certifiably goofy far longer. Since his early days, he has been compelled by feelings of awe and curiosity about stories created to explain The Great Mystery. Jay leads Vespers meditation services at Jubilee and has been an active support in leading worship services. He’s the founder of a trauma-informed recovery community and savors opportunities to help others to find any means to express the inexpressible. He also values opportunities to work with others experiencing crisis and is the chaplain of Transylvania County EMS & Rescue Squad. His fourth book, “Knocking From The Inside,” is coming out… eventually!

6.14 Choices: Sources with Laura Collins

Laura is no stranger to Jubilee! Community, having spoken here a number of times in past years, raised her son in the children’s program, and made some of her closest friends as part of this community. Back in the day, she served as Presbyterian minister in congregations in New York state and the DC area. More recently she served as Associate Minister of Community Care at Unity of The Blue Ridge until she left at the end of last year to become the primary caregiver for her awesome mama in Black Mountain. Laura has also worked in ministries with homeless families, men coming out of prison, women in prostitution and youth in poverty, and as a hospice and trauma chaplain. When the current crisis has passed, she will continue to lead workshops and retreats and provide spiritual counseling.
